Belly Dance celebrates life, love, and sacred dance. Dance brings energy through our bodies and whether your goal is to exercise, perform, or to simply dance; expanding your movement vocabulary frees your body and personal expression. In Belly Dance we are also empowered to interact with each other as we move.
In the beginner class we will explore the fundamental movements that articulated isolations and serpentine movements. These movements creat a foundation to further studies in any style of belly dance. The intermediate/advanced class will refine technique and explore a variety of styles of belly dance.
Wear comfortable clothing, hip scarves and coin belts are welcome!

This on going class will introduce students to the fundamentals of belly dance. No dance experience is necessary. We will explore isolations of the ribs and hips, arm movements, and posture. Movements will be introduced each class and incorporated into combinations. It is recommended that students take 8 weeks of beginner classes before moving on to the next level. Join any time as we review frequently.
For dancers that have an understanding of basic isolations this course will refine technique and expand dance vocabulary. We will explore more complex movements and combinations as well as practice solo and partnered improvisation. Props such as veils, zils, canes, and sword will be explored. We will also look at performance skills such as connecting with the audience, costuming, and how to cope with mistakes. Join any time as we review frequently.
