Anne Waters

I have had a life-long fascination with health and human potential, coupled with an innate need to nurture things (people, animals, plants…) Even while pursuing my second love, creative writing, and getting a BA in English at the University of Massachusetts, my spare time was spent practicing mindfulness meditation and yoga, and reading about massage, acupressure, medicinal herbs, reflexology, and energy work. It was inevitable that my heart would eventually lead me to a career in therapeutic massage.

In 2005, I graduated at the top of my class from the COMTA accredited Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy, where I became trained in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, acupressure, sports massage, and chakra balancing. This education included 650 hours of classroom/coursework, 115 hours of hands-on/clinical practice, Human Cadaver Lab at the University of Bridgeport Chiropractic and pre-event massage for athletes at the 2005 Special Olympics.  It is the most fascinating and rewarding work I have ever done.

My desire to provide my clients with the best, most comprehensive care keeps me studying, learning and adding to my skills in every way possible. To me, massage and bodywork is not just about relieving pain in the physical body. It is about finding your place of balance – your center. It is about honoring your body and learning to listen to its messages and signals. It is about healing and finding the connection between the body, mind and spirit.
