We are grateful to have recieved the following media attention: January 3, 2011End domestic violence in women's livesNate Luscombe NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - Drum circles are popping up all over the place right here in western Mass. This one also helps support a good cause. Check out the Sisters in Conversation through the Waves of Rhythm. We decided to co-create a woman's, ongoing women's community drum circle in the Northampton area. We come together once a month on the third Friday. We play for two hours. Then we donate the money to the local women's charities. Drumming is my passion. The women who come, that is also, their passion. We also have singing and we have percussion and dancing. Women come together and they learn together and to create and to encourage each other. We have a great time. We leave there having such a good time. We all have smiles on the face and doing a good thing at the same time. > read the full article & watch the video November 22, 2010State, national forecasters expect a bigger-spending holiday seasonBy CHAD CAIN .... Meanwhile, some local shopkeepers say the Black Friday concept is really the domain of larger stores. I think the craziness of Black Friday happens mostly in big box land," said Bucky Sparkle, co-owner of Inspirit Common, a shop on Main Street in Northampton. "It's not a particularly heavy day for us until later on."... October 2010Inspirit Common's Psychic Faireby Bridget Kiely, Amherst Regional High School At first glance, the bland conference room looks like it could be the site of a business meeting. Six folding tables are positioned around the room with two people, locked deeply in conversation, seated at each one. But today, something far more interesting than an ordinary meeting is happening here: Inspirit Common's triannual Psychic Faire, which offers eager customers the chance to sample any of six different psychics in $20, twenty-minute readings. When psychic Jeanne DuVier is freed up, I walk over to her table and take a seat. February 26, 2007Herbal health thrives in AmherstBy Lauren Modiset Germs seem to be growing on every surface imaginable. Health Services can be rather inconvenient and the antibiotics prescribed may work, but they can cost big bucks and have side effects. Prescription medicines aren't the only option for the typical illness. Herbs, spices and plants have been used for medicinal purposes long before modern medicine came around. Many ways exist to extract the different properties in these plants to create a specific mixture that will assist in treating an ailment. There are tinctures, elixirs and essential oils that can be incredibly effective in healing a variety of illnesses that college students experience. December 24, 2006Mind, body focus of new storeBy MELISSA KATZ HADLEY - It's difficult not to feel calm when you enter Inspirit Common, a new metaphysical center on Route 9. Between the incense and the music, the chimes and the candles, the world actually seems softer, perhaps even a bit more peaceful. That healing quality is just what the shop's owners, Bucky and Emily Sparkle, are aiming for. Last winter they opened the business, which is modeled in part on a metaphysical store in Natick where Emily once worked.
